Structure and Timeline

UC Berkeley is preparing an updated LRDP and Environmental Impact Report to submit to the UC Regents for approval in 2021. Capital Strategies, under the direction of the Vice Chancellor of Finance, is responsible for the management of the day-to-day LRDP effort.

The LRDP update initiative is guided by an Advisory Group (comprised of senior campus leadership) and a Working Group (with representatives from campus groups, students and faculty). View the complete membership roster of the LRDP Advisory and Working Groups.

Additionally, subject-specific workgroups consisting of designated campus stakeholders representing diverse perspectives will provide insight on important issues such as academic and research needs, housing, safety, and infrastructure, amongst others.

Work on the LRDP, including necessary pre-studies, began in early-2019, with substantial completion anticipated in early-2020, so that work can then begin on the Environmental Impact Report.

Final revisions and adjustments to the LRDP, as needed, will be made in early-2021, with the goal of certification of the Environmental Impact Report, and approval of the LRDP by the UC Regents in 2021.
